Attorney Daniel Micah Mehler of Mehler Cannabis Law located in San Antonio was brought in as a witness.
Mehler noted that there’s a variety of THC products other than marijuana adding that Delta-9, a chemical compound found in cannabis, is derived from CBD, or cannabidiol.
Cannabidiol is another compound found in the cannabis plant that unlike tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, doesn’t produce intoxicating effects.
Mehler stated that these substances are sensitive to light, air and heat of which can convert CBD to THC, adding that it can also change over time.
